Met Dynamics Models Revision History
Met Dynamics Models v2.0.2
- Released 27 May, 2024
- Changes to Met Dynamics Models Microsoft Excel Add-In:
- Added mass balancing tools to Excel, mdMassBal_TwoProductFormula, mdMassBal_ThreeProductFormula and mdMassBal_nProductFormula. Useful for reconciling/balancing measured data (assays, size distributions etc) across separating steps.
- Added option to Excel mdConvert_CumPassToRet() function to specify total quantity passing. Useful when the first cumulative passing value is less than the true total quantity.
- Added option to Excel mdInterp_CubicSpline() function to force spline monotonicity.
- Changes to Met Dynamics Models SysCAD Add-On:
- SysCAD Gravity Concentrator Jig (King) is now multistage. Each connected concentrate stream represents the product of a stage (compartment) in series.
- Added scale factor parameter to SysCAD Gravity Concentrator Bazin partition, allows arbitrary scaling of partition values. May be useful as a very simple approximation to product splitter/cutter position. Parameter is default hidden in Access window.
- Fix for SysCAD Metso screen model where Rf and Lambda parameters were inadvertently ignored.
- Fix for SysCAD Stream Summary pages where multiple feed streams were assigned the same tag name. A single, combined feed is now shown instead.
- Fix for SysCAD Dynamic mode Mill unit not showing all available power model options after switching Perfect Mixing Ball Mill model from dynamic to steady-state mode.
- Changed some SysCAD tag names and/or structures for Pivot and Stochastic models in Dense Medium Separator and Gravity Concentrator units.
- Changes to Met Dynamics Models engine:
- Added option to Perfect Mixing Stirred Mill steady-state and dynamic models allowing user-defined values of breakage rate scaling relationship exponents. Useful for aligning with test work or operating data.
- Removed option from AG/SAG Mill (Variable Rates) model in Excel and SysCAD which allowed user to specify spline knot positions (incompatible with Variable Rates model formulation).
- Fix for Pump model where flow calculation mode incorrectly returned zero flow rates.
- Fixes for Air Classifier (Altun) model:
- Corrected error where overflow and underflow mass flow rates by size may have been switched.
- Adjusted signs in model equations to require only positive values of input coefficients, exponents and constants.
- No longer required to provide ore SG/density as input, not used by the current model formulation.
- Various minor numerical stability improvements.
Met Dynamics Models v2.0.1
- Released 21 February, 2024
- New Gravity Classifier model for mechanical (spiral/rake/bowl) and hydraulic classifiers added:
- Excel: New mdUnit_GravityClassifier_PlittFlintoff() function available.
- SysCAD: New Classifier unit model added, Gravity (Plitt-Flintoff) option available.
- Major update to Fine Wet Screen (Mwale) model
- Added equations to estimate sharpness constant and bypass constant values.
- Excel: Function call signature, input parameters, and results formats all changed to account for new equations (please review existing instances).
- SysCAD: Input and results tags changed to account for new equations (please review existing instances).
- Fix for Perfect Mixing Stirred Mill model (steady-state and dynamic) where ball size scaling factor was incorrectly inverted.
- SysCAD Screen model improvements:
- Fix for Metso screen issue where feed moisture was always zero.
- Fix for Karra screen issue where Partition page always displays zeroes.
- Fix for SysCAD Hydrocyclone model where liquids separation method incorrectly reverts to "Split to UF (User)" when Reid-Plitt or Whiten-Beta model method is selected.
- Changed some SysCAD tag names and/or structures for:
- Pivot and Stochastic models in Dense Medium Separator and Gravity Concentrator units.
- Dense Medium Drum (Baguley) model in Dense Medium Separator unit.
Met Dynamics Models v2.0.0
