The breakage rate, $R_{i}$, is affected by mill operating conditions as follows:

• $D_{\rm {s}}$ is the stirrer diameter (m)
• $N_{\rm {s}}$ is the stirrer speed (rpm)
• $S$ is the number of starts of the screw stirrer
• $T$ is the number of turns per start along the full height of the screw stirrer ($H$)
• $D_{\rm {b}}$ is the mean media diameter (mm)
